By default your notes stay on your device. Recognition and search run locally, and notebooks only ever sync to your own Google Drive, never to our servers, which is why we can' t read them.

Share for Improvement

A notebook reaches us only if you tap “Share for Improvement” on it and confirm, nothing is uploaded in the background. When you do, your strokes are sent so we can improve handwriting recognition, along with a few technical details (app version, platform, language, engine version). We don't collect your name, email, phone, or any device identifier. Shared notebooks are reviewed by hand and kept until you delete them, which you can do from the app at any time. We never sell them.
